Dissertation Proposal Topic: Comparison of Quality of Life Between Obese and Non Obese After Sleeve Gastrectomy among Kuwaiti Adults: A Qualitative Study Aims and Objectives: -Compare quality of life scores between those people living with normal weight, obesity, and post sleeve gastrectomy. -Explore the benefits and challenges of sleeve gastrectomy on quality of life. -Examine the quality of life within post sleeve gastrectomy individuals ( less than a 12months and after 1year post surgery) -Explore the effect of the “Kuwaiti social environment” on obesity: family, friends and work. Target Group: (adults in Kuwait age 18 and above) 1 – Normal weight (BMI 18-25) with no history of gastric surgery 2 – Obese (BMI >25) with no history of gastric surgery 3- Post Sleeve Gastrectomy Methods: (mainly qualitative and you may use quantitive for Quality of Life Score) Mixed methods: Arabic Version QOL survey (Qualitative) and face to face interview (Qualitative)
