Bad blood in Silicon Valley Theranos, the start-up company founded by 19-year-old wunderkind Elizabeth Anne Holmes and her dubious sidekick Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani to develop the mysterious “Edison machine” for blood-testing went from a value of zero, to billions of dollars and then back to zero in a few years (the company was declared bankrupt in September 2018).
