Fusion – the return: Rusi Taleyarkhan and “bubble fusion” Working at Purdue University (USA) in 2002, the Russian nuclear physicist Rusi Taleyharkan claimed that fusion reactions occurred in collapsing bubbles in a mixture of benzene and acetone, when subjected to ultrasound waves. No-one has confirmed the results, and in July 2008 he was found guilty of scientific misconduct by the University.
