EARLY AMERICAN LITERARY RESEARCH PAPER ASSIGNMENT American literature prior to 1865 helped to form the foundations of our culture and thinking in this country. Much of the texts from this time have been written about extensively (i.e., they are canonical), but some have only recently been rediscovered and are ready for new critical analyses. Interpreting these texts as 21st-century readers will demonstrate that you’re thinking critically about the literature and knowledgeable about this course’s content. Plus, you’ll be contributing meaningfully to the ongoing academic conversation about a chosen literary work. This paper will involve several processes: 1.)
